On November the 13th the Nara Prefectural Track and Field Association held a press conference at the head offices of the Nara Newspaper group to announce that with support from Rikuren director Yohei Kono, it will start a new marathon beginning in 2011 as part of a celebration of the 1300th anniversary of Nara’s status as the ancient capital of Japan.
