Back in the day, I use to dye my hair every color under the sun, but stopped after I realized my hair was about fall off my head. Now; however, I’m back in the game.

I recently dyed my hair dark brown with blonde highlights. While its only as good as a DIY hair dye kit can get, I still love it. I actually feel more confident now (no idea why) which makes me wonder, does this happen for everyone? Is changing something about yourself good for yourself?

For those of you always on the go, you probably never have time to do your hair. I hate when that happens to me so when TotalBeauty put the up the list of “17 Hairstyles That Take Less Than 10 Minutes”, I was thrilled.

Most the hairstyles are very cute while others are generic. My personal favorites are “The Audrey”, “High-Volume Pony”, “Hello, Sailor”, and “Vintage Vamp”. All of which seem easy to do and look classy.

Well, Bumble and bumble. is offering free styling, cuts, and/or color with their Model Project. Bb.U’s program offers students real live models to practice their craft on, and you (the model) a free hairstyle! There’s only one catch. Don’t go in just looking for a trim, because that’s not what they need you for. If you’re adventurous and ready for a new ‘do, then this could be for you. And since budgets are getting cut left and right, why not! IT’S FREE!

Cuts range from short layers to long men’s razor cuts and even to whatever is the current style trend. If you do the styling, you can get a blow dry, french roll, and a few more, color options are cool too, from a single process to highlights, or single process with highlights!

Head over to Bumble and bumble’s Model Project for more info on what’s offered and how you can sign up.

Yeah, so you know how I’m obsessed with my hair? And how I constantly change my hairstyle? Right. So last night I decided to give a go at finger coils. What’s a finger coil? Well, it’s basically when you coil your hair around your finger (or rat-tail comb) in a spiral curl which you then set to dry. Think of it as a straw set, without the straws. The only difference to me, is that straw sets can be worked on almost any hair type, while finger coils are best for naturally curly hair. Anywho, yes, I gave myself a finger coil style…and it was horrible!

Sorry, I know I promised a tutorial on how I would do my bangs side swept but I did a different one that I thought was more appealing.

This is for those of you with long layered hair. While your hair is long you can actually make it short in less than 5 minutes without cutting it off. I know it sounds crazy but I picked the tutorial from Johnny Lavoy from Ford Models YouTube channel. It’s really simple and fun.

1. Assuming you’ve washed and dried your hair, separate your short layers from your long layers.

2. Tie them back so they don’t get in the way.

3. Now take the long layers and flip them up into a loop then pin it down with bobby pins. It’s a bit tricky and hard to explain but watch the video and you’ll understand.

4. Now release your short layers and you’re done!

Feel free to style as you like. I would recommend using volumizing mouse on your roots and then teasing to get a bobbed hair look. Wasn’t that easy? I really can’t wait to use it on a night out. More »

If you’ve been following me, you’ll know that I’m long overdue for a bang trim. After asking everyone what they liked best between a side swept and a blunt cut, the final verdict was a side swept. Thus leads me to this blog post!

While everyone’s hair is different, the way I cut mine is the general idea. It’s really simple (like a lot of things I do) and you don’t need much. I didn’t use any professional tools nor did it require any special skills. Here’s my step by step guide on how I trimmed/cut my own bangs and a video to go along with it: More »

If you have naturally kinky, curly, coily, or even wavy hair, then you know how difficult it can be to “control” it. I say “control” because we all know waves and curls look best when they’re chaotic, but it’s a controlled chaos we curly girls strive for. However, with all of the evil alcohol and silicone laced hair products out there, sometimes the price we pay for pretty coils is a heavy one. The damage most mainstream products wreak on our hair is serious and frustrating, especially when you try so hard to treat your fragile curls nicely. Well, ladies, if you’re looking for a product that gives you luscious body, no crunch and is all natural, then let me introduce you to Kinky Curly Custard. It’s the gift of the curly gods and trust me, once you try this stuff, you’ll be hooked!

It’s so fun to use: it has the consistency of snot, or slime…but it smells sooooo delicious. Kinda like warm vanilla cupcakes or some other sugary confection. The first time I used it tho, I got this white sticky residue after my hair dried (alright you pervs, that’s enough), so be careful when you use it that you don’t glob on too much. A little REALLY goes a long way with this stuff. More »
