I know I hate on Orange County from time to time for not being New York City, but at the end of the day — I really don’t. How could I, when I live somewhere where macaron towers stand tall in storefront displays? I’m also from “The OC,” so not much hate is to be had from me. I’ve yet to see this in person but this specific Eiffel Tower-shaped macaron tower was created by XT Patisserie for display at Paris in a Cup, a local tea salon I live near. More »
Just as I believe we are nearing tea cup extinction, I also believe people don’t hold enough tea parties. They most certainly do not make enough amigurumi (Japanese knitting) tea party-inspired items. When it is done, the results are freakin’ cute. Looking at this makes me want to either pick up knitting or have a tea party. More »
No, this isn’t the misnamed porn video of 2008. Apparently, my cry against the extinction of the tea cup struck many a chord in the cute fuzzy bunny community. So much so, that that blog post has since incited major protest, causing widespread unrest among individuals that long for the return of the tea cup (Me and Lady Gaga) and, well, this bunny. Just look at this bunny expressing his/her freedom of speech! More »
Imagine all of these words said by a guy from the Bronx. No offense, but it isn’t exactly fun to hear.
No, the only way these words or slang terms will ever be sexy is when read in the divine London accent. Cockney need not apply; if you’ve ever seen a Guy Ritchie film and had no idea what was being said, chances are it was the cockney accent.
The UK is compromised of multiple segments so every area has a unique accent for herself - but that’s another story for another time. Here is a video that does a better job at it than I do.
Warning, vulgar language. More »
I always had this thing about tea sets. Something about them strike me as pretty and elegant. Strangely enough, even though I grew up in Asia, I was more fascinated by the western-style tea sets. Those gorgeous garden parties I see in Victorian era must indicate that not only was I British in my past life, but I came from the Victorian and Edwardian eras. Or something like that. Now that I’m older, I also find myself liking the Asian tea sets as well. Every time I go to one of those stores that sells Korean pottery and whatnot, I look at the tea sets and muse on which one I’d like to buy in the future. Anyway, here are some tea sets I found on the net that I think are really prettyful. More »
Hot beverages and I never really meshed well together. I think I suffer from heat-sensitive skin, mouth, and tongue. Therefore, I never like to eat hot stuff, always preferring it to be cooler, especially during the summer where I love iced drinks. However, in the last couple of years, I discovered that a hot cup of tea during the colder months is really a great thing. Either that or I really was a Brit in my past life, or all that Harry Potter stuff influenced me into being more British than ever.
Regardless, I started to drink more tea, and I love it. Especially when I have some milk and sugar in mine. Now granted, they may reduce the tea’s anti-oxidant effect, but having a proper cup of tea in that sense is just really good for the soul. Or at least good for mine. I started to try out different flavours of teas, and here are the ones I discovered that rock my socks when I have a cuppa of these different teas. More »
But here are a set of non-alcoholic drinks that are my all-time favorites and must-haves whenever I’m somewhere that offers it. Girly, delicious, and super feel-good treats! I’ve listed one for each season, so it’s time to try out the one for autumn now that summer’s over.
I never ever thought I’d blog about Martha Stewart but here I am doing just that: take a look at her Cutest Cupcake Contest Winners. Some of these are SO cute, beautiful, or ornate that I don’t think it’s right that they’re supposed to be eaten.
I have a number of favorites but the sushi-imitation ones take the cake (harhar pun intended). Can you believe those things are really cupcakes?? I’m trying to imagine popping one in my mouth and instead of soy sauced seaweed, fish, and rice you get an explosion of coconut, sprinkles, gummies, and fruit-by-the-foot. Crazy taste bud mind games. But very practical when you think about it… you don’t even have to use your hands to eat cupcakes because they go better with chopsticks! More »
