Hot beverages and I never really meshed well together. I think I suffer from heat-sensitive skin, mouth, and tongue. Therefore, I never like to eat hot stuff, always preferring it to be cooler, especially during the summer where I love iced drinks. However, in the last couple of years, I discovered that a hot cup of tea during the colder months is really a great thing. Either that or I really was a Brit in my past life, or all that Harry Potter stuff influenced me into being more British than ever.
Regardless, I started to drink more tea, and I love it. Especially when I have some milk and sugar in mine. Now granted, they may reduce the tea’s anti-oxidant effect, but having a proper cup of tea in that sense is just really good for the soul. Or at least good for mine. I started to try out different flavours of teas, and here are the ones I discovered that rock my socks when I have a cuppa of these different teas. More »
Now that it’s November, it’s time to get ready for the colder season. I’m a winter fan. I love the cold as opposed to the hot and humid weather Korea’s known to give me here. I love bundling up in my Harry Potter Slytherin scarf during the winter, and I love layering up with my clothes. However, there are a few things I hate about winter.
1) I can’t wear slip on shoes for the fear of getting frostbitten feet, which sucks since I like wearing those shoes.
2) Ever since my immune system became wonky from my old job of working with children under the age of six, the cold weather doesn’t agree with the said immune system any more. In other words, I’m more prone to illnesses than previous winters.
3) I. Hate. Chapped. And. Dry. Lips. Period. Therefore I have several favourite lip balms/lip care type of thing to attack it, but alas if I forget to put them on for one or two days, that undo the smooth lips I’ve had into horrible chapped ones. Oi. Regardless of my forgetfulness, here are three of my favourite lip balms I like to use during the freezing months. More »

If you have naturally kinky, curly, coily, or even wavy hair, then you know how difficult it can be to “control” it. I say “control” because we all know waves and curls look best when they’re chaotic, but it’s a controlled chaos we curly girls strive for. However, with all of the evil alcohol and silicone laced hair products out there, sometimes the price we pay for pretty coils is a heavy one. The damage most mainstream products wreak on our hair is serious and frustrating, especially when you try so hard to treat your fragile curls nicely. Well, ladies, if you’re looking for a product that gives you luscious body, no crunch and is all natural, then let me introduce you to Kinky Curly Custard. It’s the gift of the curly gods and trust me, once you try this stuff, you’ll be hooked!
It’s so fun to use: it has the consistency of snot, or slime…but it smells sooooo delicious. Kinda like warm vanilla cupcakes or some other sugary confection. The first time I used it tho, I got this white sticky residue after my hair dried (alright you pervs, that’s enough), so be careful when you use it that you don’t glob on too much. A little REALLY goes a long way with this stuff. More »
