Results for last week’s Wall Street Pin game are in! The film closed in at a 55% Rottentomatoes score, just a little over half critic approval. The consensus states, “It’s more entertaining than many sequels, but with Oliver Stone directing, a terrific cast, and a timely storyline that picks up where the original left off, Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps should be better.” Let’s give it up for the winners of this pin game. Coming to theaters on September 24, Wall Street starring cutie Shia LaBeouf is set in New York City - more specific, in the famous Wall Street. Yes this movie will be about the economy, and not to forget money (who doesn’t love money?). This is actually a squeal to the 1987 film, also titled Wall Street. This time though, the villain is the hero, Gordon Gekko. This film was also meant to be set in 2008, just before the stock-market crash and economic downturn. Gekko, along with a young Wall Street trader, tries to warn the community of the financial crisis, but nobody wants to believe him. At the same time, Gekko will be helping the trader seek revenger on the person who, they speculate, killed his mentor. Complicated plot I know. Looks like we’ll be seeing a lot of bad to good, and even a detective / murder mystery side story! Sounds like a good movie to me, but what does everyone else think? More »
